George Orwell's paper "Politics and English" was first published in 1946, and it tells about some "bad habits" that direct English into the wrong direction, ie away from communication. In his article, he quotes five paragraphs. Each paragraph comes from a different author. These paragraphs reflect the mistakes he is talking about. He points out dying metaphors, operators, pretend words, and meaningless words as what you write or write to others (593-595). He talked about the political use of English.

George Orwell's article "Politics and English" first argues against some general assumption that the decline in English is inevitable and reflects the social and political conditions that can not resist it. He said that the concept of deprivation comes from "understanding of language" rather than "understanding of language", ie "tools we create for our own purposes" (251). As a tool, the language can be used for various purposes. As Orwell suggests, words can also operate people who use it unconsciously.

In George Orwell's politics and English, he stated his view on English differences. Orwell negatively expresses that contemporary English is "full of bad habits" (Orwell, 1946). And in today's society, people are using English incorrectly. Mr. Orwell also discussed the irrelevance of foreign words and said, "There is no need to actually use hundreds of foreign words and phrases in English." (Orwell, 1946) He thinks that we need to delete foreign words such as "sacred sac", "ancient regime", "present situation" and replace them with new words. But Orwell did not clarify how new phrases would replace old phrases. English has never been a stone language, and has undergone transient change. Due to the popular influence, the impact of the world is transplanted to our language. Our language is doubtful about creating new words and phrases.
