Political Party System: The Federalists vs. the Republicans

Prior to the declaration of independence in 1776, the colonies were separated from each other; there was little interaction. As Britain gave power to the colonies and imposed unreasonable taxes without the consent of the colony, people realized that freedom is being threatened. The settlers believed that it is necessary to unite and act together, requiring independence. When the country finally declared independence, Americans began to collapse again due to their different views. A political party was founded.

Since the 1790's, the country has been governed by two major parties, first the Federalists and the Democratic Republic, then the Whiggs and Democrats, and now Democrats and Republicans. Secondaries or third parties sometimes appear and tend to advocate policies specific to specific issues. At different times, the Socialist Party, the Peasant Workers Party, and the Populist Party had considerable local power for several years and then disappeared gradually afterwards - in Minnesota, the migrant workers 'party is now formally known as a Democratic Party - farmers' labor Merging with the state Democratic Party. Currently, Liberal Party is the most successful third party. There are many other third parties in New York State, but sometimes they candidate themselves as candidates themselves or, in some cases, recommend candidates for two major parties.
