McCombs and Shaw have investigated how people receive media content, background, length, and location. This is what they call media agenda. Most literature on this topic supports the assertion that the live agenda setting on Saturday night has the ability to influence the political field and to make political agenda. However, the literature relies heavily on quantitative data rather than qualitative data, and supports other views using other media. The agenda setting theory must first be clarified. The authors set the agenda as the first step in the two-step process of television political influence. In the agenda setting stage, when the audience evaluates politicians based on planning problems and characteristics, a second step called "preparation" occurs.
