It is impossible to measure the degree of corruption in the country. Police, citizens, corporate surveys can be used to estimate the degree of corruption. These are often inaccurate as respondents involved in fraud are reluctant to provide information on criminal activity. In spite of this limitation, police corruption can be estimated using information gathered from international crime victim investigation and barometer of global corruption enumeration.
Corruption is an important predictor of police trust at the national level (Käriinen, 2007), a recent police study at Ghana showed that government agency experience on police corruption (eg police bribery) It is the strongest predictor that reduces the confidence of. Factor (Tankebe, 2010). In a recent survey, only 30% answered that the police in the United States played a major role in controlling cheating (Pew Research, 2014). Similar trends are seen in Latin America. In the American Barometer survey of the Latin American Opinion Poll Project (LAPOP) in 2014, only 28% of Mexicans and 25% of Peru's respondents say they trust the police. 2 In the same survey, 19% Mexico People and 16% of Mexican Peruans said that in the past 12 months police officers demanded payment of bribes to them.
