Poetry Lessons for Kids

This is part of my child's poetry writing course. These should help you learn to write your own poems.

The poetic 'form' is a set of rules for writing songs of some sort. These rules may include the number of rows or syllables that a poet should have, the position of rhymes, and so on. This is a lesson for writing some common poetry forms.

Poetry has various styles. These are not "poetry forms" because they usually do not have rules for determining lengths, syllables, etc, but they are very common, and many of the famous children's poets are such poems I wrote.
