Plymouth and Jamestown: Government, Power, and Survival

Both Jamestown and Plymouth 's settlement were resolved in the early 1600' s. Plymouth and Jamestown are on the coastline of Massachusetts and Virginia respectively. Both of them have different forms of government, but they all have strong leadership. Jamestown is controlled by a company in London who wants to benefit from a joint venture. Meanwhile, Puritan settled in Plymouth settled in the New World to self-govern in the early days of democracy and gain freedom of religion. The main difference between early Jamestown and Plymouth is the role of religion in colonial affairs. Jamestown is a secular community ruled by the riches of the Anglican church and prominent rulers. Religion and practice are not an important factor in the existence of colonies. Plymouth is a religious organization of Puritans who is dedicated to pursuing their lives according to the principles of Calvinism. While sharing the same religious principle, Plymouth's political leaders are very different from religious leaders. Whereas Plymouth 's political leaders were totally elected by settlers, Jamestown' s leader was a British aristocrat elected and retained by a Virginia company.

Basically, in both areas, Plymouth and Jamestown have locals as Indians. But the difference is the difference between the people who came to the area later. In Jamestown, it is a pilgrim in Plymouth, Europe. In Jamestown, conflict involves economic problems, but in Plymouth, conflict also includes economic and religious issues. In Jamestown, Europeans rely on Indians because they can not cultivate land, but in Plymouth pilgrims can not rely on Indians because they can cultivate their land. In Jamestown, Indians are so generous that they do not have murder or savage. Even if European people dislike them, there is not such a thing yet. In Plymouth, the pilgrims killed the Indians for various reasons and enjoyed the fact that they were slowly occupying the entire region with power. For a while, the disease robbed Plymouth's Indians violently and because they were already low, they faced a number of problems at that time.
