Wegner is a German meteorologist, geophysicist, polar researcher. In 1915, he published the "Continent and the Origins of the Sea" and outlined his theory of continental drift.
Wegner is an expeditioner who travels four times to Greenland. In 1930, he last visited Greenland and died shortly after his 50th birthday.
Continental movement theory of Wegener has been suspected by many scientists. He has a lot of evidence to support this theory, but he can not explain how these plates move. Half a century before this problem began to be solved
About 30 years ago geologists developed the theory of plate tectonics - the theory that the Earth's crust was divided into large plates called tectonic plates fixed together like puzzle pieces. The structural plate is located between the thickness of 200 km (seabed) and 15 km (seabed). Geologists believe that the tectonic plate floats on the mantle lava and moves slowly. Each continent has its own tectonic plate (see Figure 3), and the continuous slow motion of the plate leads to continental movement - it is called continental drift
The crust of the Earth's crust consists of many moving debris and structural plates that are always collided and pulled apart. Volcanoes and earthquakes occur at the boundaries of these structural plates. This is because the influence of plate movement is the largest. Let's explore the social, economic, political, climatic and aesthetic impact of living in the world without plate tectonics. Without constructive power, our lives will change drastically. First let's see the social impact. Without tectonics, the number of deaths will decrease due to natural disasters such as earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and even tsunamis. The damage to the earth will be much less. This is one of the adverse effects of plate tectonics acting on the earth. Therefore, the earth becomes a safer living place, and the population will increase as the average life expectancy grows.
Plate tectonics is an important geological construction activity. In a word, it helps to form a mountain. Volcanic activity and earthquakes are also caused by plate tectonics. In general, the slab shape contributes to the material circulation between the crust and the crustal mantle. The plate structure also functions as a global thermostat, keeping the temperature within sustainable life. Without a tectonic plate (that is, the outer surface of the earth becomes a single continuous layer), there is no material recycling. The mountains are eroded and the landscape looks different. The absence of mountains will make the weather more uniform all over the world. Even the weather may lead to a decrease in biodiversity. The existence and constant movement of these tectonic plates is also considered to be the cause of life on our planet.
