Pinball’s Struggle

If someone says to you that the pinball is getting cool again, you may not agree, or you want to know when it appeared. However, it can not be denied that the popularity of pinball rose again. Pinball game sales in computers and video game systems are growing. A typical example is Apple's iPad is the hottest new product that has the best-selling game called Pinball HD. That gorgeous visual effect and fast-paced game fascinates the new generation of mastery technology (Saltzman n.p.). In general, the popularity of pinball is always unpredictable and its demise has been predicted many times.

Because pinball is gradually losing video games, pinball developers are struggling with this problem. Video games compete by increasing the difficulty of the game. The low level is easy, so any new player can immediately mark with a new player. This ensures that new players are attracted easily, but as higher levels become increasingly difficult, they are still constantly being challenged. In contrast, the physical nature of the pinball, the main attraction to the hardcore players means that it can not be done in a two-way way.

Pinball fascinates people, not video games like Defender (and Defender and Stargate designed by my new friend), which is the fundamental theorem of pinball's economics. Pinball technology is assignable. If you can go through, stop, move slowly and aim for one machine, you can do it on any machine. This is a blessing and a curse for pinball developers. Blessing is that the pinball player is the exclusive market. The curse is to make the pachinko player interested in the game, it must be more complicated and rewarding.

When we have a hotel with a games room, we play a pinball. Lots of pinballs. Because there is no video game yet, pinball is the king. Some hotels have two or three machines. There is only one in the other person. Three of us get a part of our subsidy as a hostel just for us to play. We never reached the level of Pinball Wizard, but we got the highest score in at least one game of each hotel stay. When we were completely bored, we just went to the lobby to escape from the hotel room. This can happen in stormy weather or after being caught for several days for some reason. We will take a book and sit in the hall until we return to our room and kicked. My older sister and I can read for hours, but the younger sisters are not our readers. She will get sick sooner than us. If the mother is nearby, the woman can go back to the second floor with her.
