Pierre-Auguste Renoir Pierre-Auguste Renoir was born in 1841 in Marguerite Merle and Leonardo Renoir. In 1844 his family moved to Paris, in 1854, when he was 13, he began to draw flowers on porcelain cups and saucers. Through his parents, he began to be a painter of the porcelain industry; his parents thought it was a perfect start for artists. He is from Limoges town, and porcelain is almost a symbol of position and wealth. By 1860 he left the porcelain factory and became a full time painter; he was allowed to copy paintings in Lourve where he started praising the 18th century master.

Impressionists began in the 1860's with canvas of Édouard, Claude Monet, Pierre Auguste Renoir. However, the Impressionists actually came into existence in the summer of 1869 when Monet and Renoir drew a swimming spot on the Seine Raglaneuil.
