Picture Bride

Immigrants who came to the United States for the first time were destroyed in their new lives at the beginning, they realized that their "golden living" is just a fantasy and a dream of an ideal life in America. Foreign immigrants, including immigrants mentioned in Uchida's picture, face many problems and difficulties, including disillusionment and disappointment. In addition, immigrants and brides also face racial discrimination by white men, as well as racial discrimination by the US government.

From 1905 to 1924, different Korean immigrant groups came to the United States for study, this time 500 students and political refugees arrived in the USA. Picture The bride is 17 to 20 years old, younger than her husband. If they send fake photos then women will not make an option to marry these men when they arrive in the United States. During this time, 800 brides went to Hawaii

When Japanese came to work in the farm, most of them were single men. People who decide to stay are usually more likely to marry a Japanese at home than a local bride. To satisfy this demand, a picture called a bride became common. In Hawaii and Japan, photographs of diving of the bride and groom are spreading, and a marriage agreement has been established based on that picture. Then the bride went to Hawaii to start her marriage. Japanese men and women who arrived in the archipelago often maintain close cultural ties with Japan.
