Picasso versus Watteau: Entertainment

In 1905, Pablo Picasso made some of the best masterpieces people call "The Families of Saltimbanques." This work is currently exhibited at the Chesterdale Collection of the National Gallery in Washington, DC. The Saltimbanques family was originally born in Paris, France. Early in 1720, the painter Antoine Watteau made a picture called "comedian of Italy". He painted this piece during his career at the theater. This work was created in Italy, but the Italian comedian is now in the Chester collection of the National Gallery.

Antoine Watteau is considered to be the first great Rococo painter. His influence is also evident from the work of later Rococo painters like Francois Boucher and Honore Fragonard. Huatuo is known for depicting the classic theme that develops mainly around young people and love, as reflected in the application of its soft paint, the dreamlike atmosphere and the "pilgrimage" of paintings. François Boucher became a master of the paintings of Rococo and his work by Watteau reflects much of the same features despite a slight naughty and suggestive tone. His career was brilliant, becoming a court painter of Louis XV in 1765. His career was later controversial Boucher was criticized by Diderot et al in his work.
