Introduction For the past 75 years, physiotherapy professionals have asked their members to comply with ethical conduct criteria 1 The first ethical provisions adopted by the American Physical Therapy Association in 1935. Disciplinary Action for Relationship 2 (Page 4) Since then, the Code of Ethics has evolved into what the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) calls the Doctor's Code of Ethics (PT Code) and the ethical behavior of physiotherapist assistants. Standard (PTA standard) 2 (page 5), 3, 4 Today's specifications and standards are designed
Under the guidance and supervision of physical therapists, Physical Therapists and Physical Therapists Assistants (PTA) are the only providers of physical therapy services. In many clinical settings, physiotherapists rely on PTA to allow all patients / clients to use physiotherapy services. Physical therapy has a long history of restoring an individual to its highest level body function, and in many cases patients are sent to physical therapy rather than surgery. Patients / customers value individual "practice" approaches to physical therapy treatment. When a physiotherapist first meets a patient / client, I will prepare a care plan to examine individuals, improve mobility, relieve pain, restore function, and prevent disability. Physical therapists can choose to use PTA in providing ingredients for physical therapy treatment
The terms "physiotherapist's assistant" and "physiotherapy assistant or technician" are not synonyms. The Physical Therapist Assistant completed intensive training and finally acquired an Associate Degree. Assistants and technicians are trained in vocational training and are not eligible to provide physical therapy to many payers including Medicare. Most physiotherapist assistants work from Monday to Friday, but the working hours vary depending on the facility and employment situation. For example, in most hospitals and specialized medical facilities, coverage of insurance is narrowing over the weekend, and many outpatient physiotherapy rooms and clinics spend night and weekends according to patient schedule.
