The image of the perfect woman in the 1950s was familiar to all of us - wandering through the house all day, preparing delicious meals for a diligent husband, caring for the children, and of course laughing, A diligent wife. This image is reflected a lot in advertisements of that era. Inspired by them, Eli Rezklahlah, a Beirutian photographer and video editor in Lebanon, created a series called "In Parallel Universe" where he changed the gender roles depicted in these ads and was humorous I revealed it by the method. Ridiculous stereotype

Rezkallah wrote on his website: "Despite knowing that I do not like all men," At the last Thanksgiving, I cooked women better and taken care of the kitchen And then I was surprised to discover that some people are still doing this about my uncle and this idea so if the character is reversed and the men experience their own sexist poisons I will keep imagining the universe. "

Old-fashioned advertising is certainly not known for their progressive depiction of sex role. To show how absurd their standards are today, visual artist and photographer Eli Rezkallah created a series of photographs that reversed the role of gender and recalled retro advertisements. The results show that in this world men are dependent on their families and should exist primarily in relation to surrounding women. The series of Rezkallah is titled "In a Parallel Universe", in a real advertisement a metaphor is used for an aversive woman - a mother surrounded by a kitchen housewife, a cutlery - a male in a women's shoe . In addition to visually recreating advertisements, Rezkallah also changes copies of advertisements by simply replacing male specific words with women's specific words or vice versa.

Sometimes the traditional sex role is opposite. When this happens, you will see that a man shows the typical manhood of a woman, while a person's behavior is usually related to femininity. This is often the case with gay advertisements. Watching these advertisements may impact most people as they are not used to reversing this role. This indicates that there is actually a difference in the sex of the advertisement. Beauty can be mainly defined as perception. It is a set of social norms that explain the specific form of appearance being evaluated. Almost 40 years ago, women were expected to adapt to a specific body image and act in some way to decipher and strengthen femininity (Bordo, 1997, p. 94). Men and women make efforts to achieve this beauty, shape themselves and influence them to change their appearance to suit these norms.
