Czeisler's first paper on circulation of circadian rhythms was published in the August 1981 issue of Photochemistry and Photobiology. He proved a light / dark cycle rather than a social interaction and killed the circadian rhythm of two male subjects living in a specially built apartment without potential temporal cues.
