Abstract: The burden of this paper is to examine the role of philosophy in contemporary Nigerian society. Philosophy is regarded as a meaningless subject, a field lacking human contact. It is also seen as an abstract company. Some people believe that philosophy is only relevant in the past and no longer applies to our evolving era of science and technology. The related problem is now: Is philosophy really unrelated to modern society? In our society, what role does philosophy play? Therefore, this paper believes that philosophy plays an important role in contemporary Nigerian society using analytical and philosophical approaches of phenomenology. This paper points out that philosophy is essential for the general development of mankind. Especially at all levels of our education department, we recommend at least a little philosophical training to everyone.
