This article explains the philosophy of Marsilio Ficino and how they affect many celebrities such as Lorenzo de 'Medici and Sandro Botticelli. Ficino is a great Neo Platon philosopher who worked under Cosimo de 'Medici. Lorenzo and Marcillio believe that "reunification of spirit and beauty can be achieved by Venus worship" (33). Lorenzo advised Ficino to study Christian doctrine. By researching this Christian doctrine and explaining Plato's idea, Ficino proposed a new philosophy.
Ficino, Marsilio (1433-1499) Italian neoplatonic philosopher Marcilio Ficino is the center of the Renaissance's important Italian neoplatonic philosopher, the so-called Florentine Plato, the circle of philosophers around him. His father is a private physician at Cosimo de 'Medici, but there is little detail about Ficino' s early life. He was trained in medicine and began studying Greek language around 1456. These years in Florence are characterized by the emergence of Greek philosophers who avoided the progress of the Ottoman Empire and reintroduced Plato and Greek literature into Italy. Exposure to these intellectuals may give Ficino the desire to integrate Christianity and Greek philosophy. In 1463, Cosimo gave Ficino a villa that planned to translate Plato's dialogue to Latin and translated the Hermetic Camcorp (the text resulting from the Egyptian magician Hermes Treszistas). Florence's interest in Plato was inspired by the existence of a Greek scholar of 1439 (see Chapter 2). Fascinated by these scholars, Cosimo de'Medici began to study Plato's work further.
