Pheidias Pheidias is considered to be the most talented and talented person among all sculptors of ancient Greece. There is no special work for artists, but from the history, he knows that he is the director of Athena Paternos and Zeus of the Olympia Temple and the main sculptor. The statue of Zeus was designed and built by Greek sculptor Phidias. Pheidias was selected to participate in the project as it completed other wonderful works such as Athena statue of Parthenon. Pheidias began researching the statue of Zeus around 435 BC. That statue was completed in about 12 years. The statue of Zeus is on the beautifully carved throne near the back of the Temple of Zeus. The statue is 22 feet wide (about 6.70 meters) wide and 40 feet tall (about 12 meters high). Pheidias uses a special technique to make an image called chryselephantine. This process involves covering them with ivory for meat, gold and other gorgeous jewels to make a purpose from inferior materials like wood and add decoration.
