Peters Max has become a world traveler. Max 's family was born in 1937 and fled from Berlin in 1938 to avoid persecution of Nazis. His family lived in a Buddhist monastery near Shanghai until the artist was only ten years old. Max and his parents traveled to China and stayed for a while in Tibet and forced to escape from Israel because Mao Zedong army advanced to Shanghai. On the way to the newly established Jewish state, the family spent a while in India and Africa. In 1953, Max family moved to the United States after six months in Paris.
