Prior to the Pepsi Center, Denver Nuggets and Colorado Avalanche competed in the Macnichols Sports Arena, which was destroyed as a parking lot for the nearby Mustang Stadium. Coincidentally, before the avalanche moved to Denver, the then Quebec Nordic team carried out another stage where PepsiCo had the right to name: Koryzha Paksi. The Pepsi Center hosted the NHL All Star Game 2001, the Stanley Cup Final of 2001 and the NBA All Star Game of 2005.
