Nipissing University's peering program is designed to promote one-on-one peer tutoring for students who need specific course assistants.

Peer counselors provide opportunities to improve communication, education, and interpersonal skills through the process of becoming an educator.

Peer counselors will not help submit grading assignments unless a signed permission form is obtained from the instructor. This is the policy of the peer coaching program.

The Peer Counseling Program at Duke University, North Carolina offers free individual tutoring for up to 12 hours per semester and free tutorial for Duke undergraduates who take an entry level level beginner level course. Students meet with lecturers at convenient public places on campus such as weekly vacation classrooms, libraries, public dormitories. All colleagues' counselors are undergoing continuous training.
