Participants are formed in a peer-to-peer network, allowing part of their resources to be used directly for peers without having to migrate the network to hosts or servers. Compared to traditional client-server models, peers are both resource providers and consumers. On the other hand, the traditional client-server model has only server provisioning and client consumption. Point-to-point is specifically designed to use the relationships between computers and extend them to the local network using the Internet. The main reason for peer-to-peer is to share a lot of information and transfer free resources to many computers.

A P2P network is a computer or network architecture that shares tasks, jobs, or files among peers. Peers are partners in the network and have the same privileges and authorities within the environment. In a P2P network, each computer or user is referred to as a "node", which together contain the P2P network of the node. A simple way to think about P2P networks and nodes is through an initial file sharing service like Napster. Users can log in to Napster and share the audio files stored on their computers. You can then access the audio files available on other nodes of the P2P network. If there is a duplicate of an available audio file, the P2P network shares these files by splitting these files among the nodes. If you want to download a specific audio file, the P2P network looks at the node, extracts a portion of the audio file from each node that owns it, and edits a copy of the audio file for you.

The design method of the computer network also differs. The two basic forms of network design are called client / server and peer-to-peer. The client-server network has a centralized server computer that stores email, web pages, files, and / or vice versa accessed by client computers and other client devices. Functional client-server networks are more common in more common business networks in peers and in peer-to-peer networks. The network topology defines its layout or structure from a data stream perspective. For example, in a so-called bus network, all computers share and communicate via a common pipe, whereas in a star network all data passes through a centralized device.
