Past perfect tense

If you want to mention actions completed in the past before other actions occurred, please use the past completion tense.

In other words, if two actions occurred in the past, you will use the past completion tense to complete the first action and proceed to the next action with a simple past tense.

When I got to the cinema, the movie started. There is a problem with this sentence. There may be someone who wonders if I arrived at the cinema before or after the movie began.
