Past and current trends in substance abuse in the United States Over the years, drug abuse has changed due to the trend of American culture encouragement. Drug abuse can cause many health problems. The past and present trends of drug use, and the effects of these drugs on personal health of drug abuse are described below. Over the past two decades, cocaine use in the US has declined and the use of cracks has increased.

The overall situation of drug abuse in the US is constantly changing. The effect of drug abuse is a major public health problem affecting society at various levels. As in all families, all communities are directly or indirectly influenced by substance abuse. Medicine brings a lot of loss to our society at many levels. In this article we discuss past and present trends in drug use and how the American culture supports the encouragement and support of drug-youth, especially on drugs and alcohol at high school. Some teenagers try it and do not like it, others prefer it. This love for drugs and alcohol is a normal activity, then teenagers may rely on drugs and drinks and become poisoned. These stages of drug abuse can affect human relationships, health and ambition. Families and friends are seriously damaged when their loved ones are on vacation

In the United States, young drug abuse and alcohol abuse are becoming a big problem. The abuse of illegal substances can ultimately lead to addiction. Drugs and alcoholism are contagious diseases. It does not spread through bacteria, it spreads through families, schools and communities. There are two youth prevention programs that try to reduce the levels of youth drug abuse and alcohol abuse. They are D.A.R.E. program in Texas State and Serenity House. D.A.R.E. Program

• Alcohol is the most abused drug in the United States. Other drugs of abuse include nicotine, hemp, methamphetamine, cocaine. Alcohol problems can cause intimate partner violence and child abuse. Alcohol abuse is more suspected of crime than abuse of other drugs. • College student overeating is known as a major public health problem. Students with high risk behavior tend to be overeating, but there are several studies showing that students participating in community services, art, or research are unlikely to become overeating. Every year, thousands of university students are injured or killed by alcohol-related driving and injuries.
