Park Description: The Duluth's Rose Garden is on a 5 acre site in Leif Erikson Park at the foot of 13th Avenue. Rose garden with direct access to Lake Walk has over 3000 roses and other plants, statues of Leif Erickson, stone memorial fountains, and a pavilion for many wedding ceremonies.

Dan McLean received his Ph.D. from the Department of Education Management at Kansas State University. He is an active member of the National Recreation and Park Association, the Park and Recreation Educators Association, the Vacation Business Entertainment Association, and the American Parks and Recreation Association. He teaches at Kansas State University, Iowa State University, Indiana University. He is the research director of the National Park Information Resource Center which is a subsidiary of the National Association of State Bureau Directors and the Director of the Program. His research focuses on leadership, management, and strategic planning. He served as president of the American Leisure and Entertainment Association and Iowa State Park and Recreation Association. He served as Director of Cedar Rapids of the IA Entertainment Committee

In response to the economic turmoil facing public parks and entertainment facilities, the National Recreation and Parks Association (NRPA) and the American Park and Recreation Administration Authority (AAPRA) have organized the 2009 NRPA Conference and Expo (Salt Lake, UT City) discussing the economy with parks and entertainment. Impact Each meeting included a brief introduction by a panel of experts followed by a roundtable discussion. The first meeting focused on the economic problems that affect urban parks and recreational facilities held on 14th October 2009. The second meeting was held on 16th October 2009, focusing on economic issues affecting park areas, community parks and entertainment facilities. Specifically, the meeting tried to solve the following problem.
