Parkland Students Are Not Happy About Their Clear Backpacks

Students of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School are not impressed by the new security measures of their school. Six weeks after Gunman killed 17 people at a school in Parkland, Florida, the students got an obvious backpack that they had to wear to prevent anyone bringing weapons on campus.

Robert Rancy, the principal of Broward County Public Scool, announced a new policy last month when archer brothers were on campus and two students were accused of bringing a knife to the school grounds. Mr. Rancy also said that students will receive identification cards that they need to wear and school districts are considering setting up metal detectors.

The students quickly criticized the decision and one veteran, Kilapallow said in a tweet, "Because the lawmakers are not doing commonsense gun reforms on their agenda, they now put my school in prison I will change. These transparent backpacks have no success. Not all the items in the bag are visible, there is no way to monitor the contents of more than 3,000 backpacks. I am very glad that this is the place for my community to invest resources.

These backpacks can not protect us. We are not safer than before. Now it gets more complicated

I thought of a transparent backpack and put everything in. Well, you can not load the standard AR-15 or a little rifle into your backpack. But there are even some semi - automatic pistols and some hybrid cars like the appropriate UZI made in Israel. So the backpack can easily hold some semi-automatic pistol and spare clip

Another attempt to solve was to sell transparent backpacks to students as the only option for carrying teaching materials. Implementing a clear backpack for Parkland students is not their hot decision. Many students are not satisfied with this change; they think they are safer than before. This rule only discloses the privacy rights of the student and there is not even solving the problem at all. Some shooting incidents did not have backpacks or were hiding in different places. If this trend continues, it is not ethical to violate the privacy of these students and perhaps other students. Because they are fighting for privacy and expression, I stand with Parkland students. This is not the correct way to solve this problem
