There are many analgesics for pain management. Among them, oxycodone is the most pain relieving medicine for opioid analgesics. Oxycodone is classified as schedule II controlled substance. It is usually combined with the tablet acetaminophen (Percocet) and aspirin (Percodan). Oxycodone is available in the form of immediate release (Oxy IR) and sustained release (OxyContin). It is a powerful analgesic used to control moderate to severe pain, postoperative, acute and chronic pain. Oxycodone is pharmacologically classified as a class of opioid agonist and opioid synthesis, while the treatment class oxycodone is an opioid analgesic and pregnancy class B.

A pet owner may not be aware of the risk of families or guests accidentally or intentionally abusing pet's opioid prescription at home. Whenever a pet is positively vaccinated with opioids, the veterinarian should advise the pet owner to protect the opioid and keep it invisible. When a pet owner has an unnecessary opioid, you should give that medicine a priority. Because of its inherent risk, the FDA made concrete recommendations on disposal of opioids.
