One of the many uses of glass is to make containers for preserving food and beverages such as bottles and cans. It has several advantages, until recently thought to be the best packaging material for almost all products. The most important advantage is that glass containers do not release chemicals or odors that could damage food and beverages. Content is still safe to use unless the content has expired.
