This is the third of my main learning theory blog series. My plan is to work through the alphabet of psychologists, to give a brief overview of their theory and how each theory can be applied to education. Yesterday, we looked into the study on Chris-Argylis double loop learning. Today we will explore Albert Bandura's study on social learning theory. Albert Bandura's social learning theory has been said to span the gap between behaviorism and cognitiveism. Social learning theory combines the concept of behavior strengthening of the former with the latter recognition process such as attention, motivation, memory. Indeed, the theory of social learning basically - as its name implies - explains how we learn in a social environment.
