Overview of the International Medical Corps

International Medical Group The International Medical Group was founded in 1984 by Dr. Robert Simon, a global non-worldly nonprofit humanitarian organization headquartered in Santa Monica, California. As a signatory to the International Red Cross and the Red Crescent Motor Code of Conduct, the IMC is administered in accordance with the principles of humanitarian, neutral, fairness and business independence. In accordance with humanitarian principles, the IMC promises to deal with human suffering anywhere it may be found to protect human life, health and respect.

The International Medical Unit conducts educational pamphlets on mental health issues at the primary health care center, informal tent settlements of refugees, and schools. In some areas, International Medical Corps will hold a series of short-term briefing sessions on the topic, which is usually about 20 minutes. In both formats the team tested people's perception of mental health topics before and after training to ensure that information was received properly.

The international medical team has implemented nutrition programs in Kenya since 2011.
