Introduction OA is a musculoskeletal disorder that causes chronic joint pain and decreases physical function (Laba, Brien, Fransen, & Jan, 2013). Osteoarthritis (OA) is a non-inflammatory disease of the synovial joint resulting in loss of hyaline cartilage and remodeling of the surrounding bone. OA is the most common joint disease, with prevalence of 60% in males and 70% in females since 65 years of age, with an estimated 40 million in the United States (Goodman & Fuller, 2009).
