Orpheus and Eurydice

I chose the story of Orpheus and Eurydice as my myths to analyze. This is one of the earliest stories of a tragic ending, and countless modern stories are undoubtedly at least partially inspired. There are many artistic interpretations in this myth and each has its own perspective. The Essential Metamorphosis of Ovid is the first major source I want to analyze. First, the musician Orpheus found his beloved Eurydice body in the lawn.

In the story of Orpheus and Eurydice, Orpheus is a magnificent musician who can make magic with his koto, the son of Apollo, the music god (and the god of the sun). Anyhow, Orpheus fell in love with Eurydice, they got married. But one day, Eurydice was bitten by a snake while playing in a meadow with Orpheus and went to the underworld soon after dying. Hades (Greek version), the guardian of Underworld, was fascinated by the music of Orpheus and he allowed him to "play in the basement" and bring out his wife. The problem is that Orpheus can not look back. My husband and wife have emerged. What will Orpheus do? He looked back and everything was lost.

Eurydice is a drama by Sarah Ruhl in 2003 and he talks about the myth of Orpheus from the perspective of his wife Eurydice. The story focuses on Eurydice's choice to stay back in the dark world with Orpheus returning to Earth or with her father (a character created by Ruler). Ruhr made some changes to the original mythological story. The most prominent of these changes is that Orpheus succumbed to his desire in myths and reexamined Euridis, while in the version of the rule Euridis was called Orpheus. Maybe she wants to stay with the father in the dead country. Ruhl's script is clearly written to be a playground for collection designers.
