In the summer of 1886, McDonald alone went to Western Canada, traveled by private rail from one town to another and solved a lot of people. McDonald 's traveled with his wife, and they sometimes sit on the locomotive in the train to get a better view. On August 13, 1886, McDonald 's hammered silver with a silver hammer and completed the railroads of Eskimar and Nanaimo. In 1886, there was another controversy with US fishery rights. American fishermen have used treaty provisions to allow them to land in Canada and have used trees and water as a cover for secret offshore fisheries. Several ships were detained in the Canadian harbor, causing indignation of Americans and requesting their liberation. McDonald's attempted to pass the fisheries bill which would exceed the provisions of several treaties and still irritate the UK who is still responsible for external relations.
