Oral Cancer

Oral cancer is a devastating disease. Oral cancer kills more than 8,000 Americans, and only one quarter of them do not overdrink or smoke, which are the two main causes of oral cancer (Oral Cancer Foundation). If you take precautionary measures to reduce the possibility of being diagnosed as oral cancer, the survival rate of oral cancer may be much higher. Reducing alcohol and tobacco usage reduces the likelihood of developing oral cancer.

Oral cancer is one of the cancers that develops in the head and neck. Oral cancer starts in mouth or mouth. Oral cancer is very common. If a doctor finds it quickly and treats it, it is very curable. Oral cancer is usually found by a doctor or dentist through periodic verbal examination. Most people with oral cancer smoke or use cigarettes. Drinking is also a risk factor for oral cancer. Oral cancer is part of a group of cancers called head and neck cancer. Oral cancer occurs in the mouth and in any part of the oropharynx. Cancer is defined as uncontrolled proliferation of cells that invade and damage surrounding tissues. Oral cancer looks like growth and pain in the mouth and does not disappear. Oral cancer including lips, tongue, cheeks, mouth, hard palate and soft palate, sinusitis and throat (throat) cancer can be life threatening without early diagnosis and treatment. As part of your daily checkup, your dentist will perform screening tests on oral cancer. More specifically, your dentist will feel a change in lump or irregular organization in the neck, head, face and mouth. When you examine your mouth, your dentist looks for any pain or discolored tissue and checks for any of the symptoms and symptoms above.
