This town is very realistic compared to the average town in the southern part of the 1930s. This town has very strong prejudice against black people, there is no obvious reason other than color. For black people, Maycomb is not very suitable for living, as it can lead to white disappointment and lead to an impossible fight. Meicom is a classic southern town with judges, sheriffs, gossip, businessmen and others. Killing ridiculous birds can not happen anywhere outside the South.
