Corporate libraries need a platform to manage digital content, electronic resources, multimedia, and printed materials. OpenText library management (formerly Livelink for Libraries, or Techlib) is a web-based integrated library system for managing library resources, including traditional digital collections and daily automatic library operations. We provide the necessary tools to meet the needs of rapidly changing digital libraries.
Library management simplifies and promotes the day-to-day operations of companies, governments, or organizations. It consists of a set of modules providing the following.
Fully integrated module design: Library Management provides a fully integrated library system that includes two core components. Library users' online user access directory (OPAC) provides an easy to use web browser interface. Management component which is a convenient web browser interface for library staff, including integrated search for bibliographic matters and digital contents, and modules for cataloging, publishing, serialization, procurement and management system parameters
Highly configurable library-specific parameters: The same applies to organizations with one or more library locations. It can be defined globally or adapted to individual library policies. Options include employee privileges, materials, collection and sponsor types, loan policy, classification scheme, and reporting options.
Digital collection management support: With the digital collection function you can effectively integrate knowledge assets both in physical and electronic form. You can attach multiple formats of digital content to a catalog record to add value to the collection through the full text of the document, comments, covers, catalogs etc.
Dynamic access control: Access control is provided by ANSI standard vocabulary. It will automatically become active between search and data entry. During cataloging, interactive verification warns you that there is incorrect input and it is overwritten. The term switching function automatically changes the non-priority format to the preferred format. During the search process you can browse and select terms from the authorization file and perform a search redirect to the preferred form.
Standards-based open architecture for extensive customization: Library management uses a standard open architecture on the application server to centrally manage all custom activities. In addition, the database schema is fully exposed and can be modified to meet local data requirements. Although library management is designed to be customizable, OpenText continues to support it, and will be upgraded each time there is a new release.
Flexible report generation: Report templates provide maximum flexibility to address local reporting needs using Jasper Reports.
Library management is a sub-discipline of institutional management that is focused on specific issues faced by libraries and library management specialists. Library management includes ordinary administrative tasks, intellectual freedom, and fundraising activities. Problems faced by library management often overlap with the problems confronted by the management of non-profit organizations. Most libraries that store physical media (such as books, magazines, movies, and other objects) follow certain derivatives of the Dewey Decimal System as a means of tagging, storing, and retrieving documents based on unique IDs I will. Through the use of these systems, librarians have developed and used a common structure as a tool for library specialists and library users. These components include home directories, domain directories, indexes, unique identifiers, unique identifier tags, and artifacts.
