OpenText and Six Sigma

Introduction OpenText is a software product company specializing in enterprise content management solutions. The company participates in numerous implementation and consulting projects around the world to provide business-specific solutions and technologies for managing and leveraging content. Over the past four years, OpenText grew dramatically as an organization through acquisitions. Because OpenText is acquired at the rate of three companies every year, there are several unique challenges in the organization in the form of different cultures, products, processes, and resources.

There are six Six Sigma processes: Six Sigma DMAIC and Six Sigma DMADV, each term comes from the main step of the process. Six Sigma DMAIC is a process for defining, measuring, analyzing, improving, and managing existing processes under the Six Sigma specification. Six Sigma DMADV defines, measures, analyzes, designs, and verifies new processes or products trying to achieve Six Sigma quality. All Six Sigma processes are performed by Six Sigma Green Belt or Six Sigma Black Belt and are supervised by the term created by Motorola, Six Sigma Black Belt Master

The 40 Six Sigma "Black Belt" sitting in front of me looked at me carefully, everyone weaved and weaved. I was asked to introduce design thinking to them. I do not have any color Six Sigma belt. I fully acknowledge that I do not know the difference between 6 and any other digital sigma. I decided to design design thinking with "Marshmallow Challenge" by TED conference 2006, former designer of product design company IDEO Peter Skillman. Exercise was like this. Four teams built the highest autonomous structure for 18 minutes using 20 straight spaghetti, 1 yard masking tape, 1 rope and marshmallows. You can change all the materials, but marshmallow, "best" is defined as the vertical distance between the bottom of the tower and the top of the marshmallow.
