Open Book Exam

Educational tools will help new staff learn the position in American hockey game rules and rules manual. In addition, it will help strengthen their knowledge of rules and return officials for the season.

You must complete online member registration for American hockey to enter the open book exam. A test will be provided from the link above 24 hours after member registration is completed.

In order to take the exam, you need to enter the last name (as entered at the time of member registration) and the official number of the US hockey (members will be sent by confirmation email after registration).

To complete this test, please use the latest 2017-21 American Hockey Rules Manual (do not guess). We strongly recommend that you print the test and record the response once the exam is completed. This exam is designed to be done at your preferred speed. Your answer will be saved as you go, so you can stop and continue at any time.

If you do not pass the exam, you can take the exam again after 7 days from the score of the original exam (There is no notification when you grant this access). The exam for re-examination includes questions that use the same rules as all questions missing in the initial exam.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you have taken the OB exam again (has not begun), you have 30 days to submit this exam. Otherwise the examination will be over and no further opportunity will be obtained.

Please understand the reason behind the open book exam. Public book exams do not depend on learning or introspective learning. Instead, you will get the information before you, but the information you will be required is often very complex. Public examinations are aimed at teaching students how to learn and apply information in a thoughtful way. In the published book exam, the focus is not to memorize information, but to apply it. This means to you that you do not simply summarize the material in the textbook. You will explain it in the context of specific issues and scenarios

Why is this happening? In public exams, you can try your knowledge, not the ability you remember, through applications or well-thought questions (Vanderburgh, 2005). In order to effectively prepare for the open book exam, it is important to emphasize important notes and mark them together. In that process, students may misunderstand the information stored in their memories, so they re-explain important ideas, so they may learn by mistake. There are two types of open book exams, usually limited and unlimited. In restricted exams, teaching materials are limited to specific documents such as individual notes and individual textbooks.
