On October 21, 1931, in Spavinaw, Oklahoma, a baby named Mickey Charles Mantle was born in Elves 'Matt' mantle and Ravel Mantle. Mickey was named after Mutt's professional baseball player Mickey Cochran and his grandfather Charles Mantle. Mutt Mantle played baseball as a young boy.
