The best thing everyone can do for themselves and others is to take a stand for what they believe. Humans have a wonderful gift that can make actions and changes with words and thoughts. This gift has been repressed or ignored many times. It promotes silence and normal dedication. Do not use this ability is the greatest personal corruption. In short stories, Tim O'Brien, the main character, later the writer of this author, was drafted in the Vietnam War.

The final work, Tim O'Brien's "They Carry" is a series of short stories about the Vietnam War through personal experience. Like Hemingway, O'Brien's style is simple, straightforward and slightly rhythmic. Many similarities between the two writers can be inferred as their story effectively explains the realism that traditional stories can not be captured and conveyed. O'Brien solves the problem of trauma in various intelligent ways. His body and spirit closed his eyes and was instantly replaced with faded light. O'Brien delved into the field of trauma by using a detailed explanation of the surrounding environment

Tim O'Brien was born on October 1, 1946 in Austin, Minnesota and moved to Worthington, Minnesota at the age of ten. O'Brien participated in a series of anti-war demonstrations in his town and found a shelter from all over the world at the county library. After graduating with honors at the University of McAlester in Sao Paulo in 1968, after obtaining a bachelor's degree, O'Brien was elected war. Although O'Brien opposed the war in all respects, he broke up with his family and friends, but he knew that he would be alienated, so he let him escape from the draft and let him travel to Canada. Upon arrival, O'Brien noticed that shameful conduct of these acts was not worth it, and he realized that it was drafted at home. From January 1969 to March 1970, under the direction of Lieutenant Jimmy Cross, he was elected the fifth battalion of the US Army, and the 46th Infantry was used as an infantry.

Tim O'Brien showed the character marked by the Vietnam War many times. To the veteran who struggled to adapt himself to his hometown for the first time from the infantry, his main character brought complicated problems caused by war to an anti-war activist who was made into death. O'Brien's opening a new door to a career began in his childhood. One day, he ran away from the minor league 's humiliation to the library in Worthington, Minnesota. So he found a minor league's book and soothed himself by writing counterfeit goods. Other books in the library have become a way to escape "stupidity and frustration" and go out because of the rich imagination of O'Brien. O'Brien noticed that the novel would make him experience "that he should have something or have it"
