On the Linguistics of Power (and the Power of Linguistics)

In this chapter, we will consider the application of large-scale linguistic analysis when measuring the extent and timing of language change related to power acquisition. A study of the language corpus (this term is explained in the next section) goes back to the Middle Ages when members of the Dominican Republic Order created the first index of the Latin Bulget Bible. As language inequality changes are conceptualized, questions arise as to how to measure them. Attempts of language skill measurement (Oller 1983) and language power and development (Ferguson 1962; Laponce 1984: ch.3; Mackey 1975) have been made, but it is clearly not an inequality between language and speaker . In complex situations there are many reasonable ways to measure language inequality and people can even modify the conclusion or even reverse it by changing the measurement method. Even if inequality comes from a single language resource, the change in its distribution can be measured as an increase or decrease in language inequality.

Language Anthropology is an important part in studying the various forces and inequalities of culture. Linguistics shows how culture interacts through language and can determine who is "superior" and who can distinguish people by identity or gender. Among the modern population, the existence of power and inequality still exists. Whether it is linguistic or cultural, anthropologists are studying the existence of a struggle for balancing power and inequality. Even though different attitudes are different attitudes, basically all human beings have power and inequality.

When such a thing began, linguistics scarcely existed in the science of linguistics. But thanks to Noam Chomsky etc, linguistics will experience a revolution revealing the power of natural language, elegance, beauty, simplicity, and efficiency. Also, if you can call symbolic logic, mathematics, or computer language as "language", it also becomes clear that fragments of structure and purpose are included in natural language. The positivists admire the lashes, not the languages ​​of their lives, and like like, philosophy is dead in their hands.
