Old Testament Survey

The Old Testament can be divided into five parts: the law (from Genesis to Deuteronomy), the history book (from Joshua to Esther), the book of songs (from John to Solomon's songs), the main prophet (Isaiah Daniel) and a small prophet (Malachi from Hosea). The Old Testament was written around 1400 BC. By about 400 BC, the Old Testament was mainly written in Hebrew, some of which was written in a small part of Aramaic (basically a Hebrew variant).

The Old Testament deals primarily with the relationship between God and Israel. Tora deal with the creation of Israel and God to build a contractual relationship with Israel. History documents the history of Israel, victory and success, and its failures and failures. A book of poetry allows us to examine the relationship of God with Israel and his enthusiasm for Israel's worship and obedience to him in more detail. Prophecy is God calling Israel to repent its idol worship and dishonesty, return to obedience and spiritual loyalty.

Perhaps a better title is the first date. The word "old" tends to give the concept of "old" or "irrelevant". This is not true. Please read the following article.

This book is not just a study of the Old Testament, it gives the theme, summary, author, and content of the Old Testament book. There are many excellent books like the Wilmington Old Testament (Victor) survey taught by my lifelong friends Harold Wilmington at a free university. The Old Testament creator is the history of the Old Testament, and orders people and events in order. But it is not mere event in the clothesline, it explains the Old Testament through the continuing influence of historians.

The Old Testament Study I: A Christ centered approach to Bible study is designed to investigate the information of the Old Testament, both at the personal writing level and normative level. In other words, students must understand not only the main information of each book in the Old Testament, but also how that information contributes to the overall information of the Bible. The focus is in the period between the beginning and the end of the ransom history, which shows how the whole Old Testament points out to prepare for Messiah Jesus. This will be accomplished through things that the authors of the Old Testament truly care about, and most of the dominance and dynasties, and through direct studies on the passage of some important Bible in the Old Testament.
