Uchendu - Uchendu is Okonkwo's mother's brother. He warmly welcomed Okonkwo and his family when Okonkwo visited Mbanta to spend seven years asylum. He noticed that Okonkwo was hopeless for his misfortune. He united his family and explained the value of his mother and his people. People stay in his homeland when his life is healthy, but when his life is bitter and sad he asks for evacuation in his home country. He suggested thanks to his mother Okonkwo gave him consolation, otherwise he is in danger of offending the deceased, buried in Mbanta, especially his mother I will. He reminded Okonkwo what he suffered in his life. In addition to one of the six wives he died, he buried 22 children in his life. Unlike Okonkwo who moved without thinking, Uchendu is a peaceful and compromised person.

Obierika is Okonkwo's best friend. Unlike Okonkwo, he is a thoughtful person. Even when he was comforting Okonkou and trying to take care of Okonko, he asked about his asylum. When Okonkwo was exiled, Obierika was the person who visited Okonkwo. He knew that Okonkwo's son joined them, and he brought the first news on the arrival of missionaries. Finally, when sad and tired Obierika pays homage to his friends, Okonkwo crushed when he leads to a gradual decline of rituals needed by people to clean the land
