Offred's Narrative Technique in The Handmaid's Tale

Since offred influences every aspect of "Maid's story", her role needs to be considered to better understand her narrative skills. Offred is nostalgic, she craves her original Gilead, and she still strongly agrees. However, her desire for her is realistic, the past is not perfect, I know that it is not a utopia, but she wants a better situation than now. Another strong reason for longing for the past is that she is basically happy there, she has a daughter and a lover, both canceled by the Gilead regime.

The maid's story is divided into two parts, night and various other activities. This novel can be interpreted as a double story, a story of Offred, and a maid story. The night part is just Offred, and the other parts (shopping, waiting room, family etc) are from the perspective of Offred, but a story that describes the possible lives of each maid. In many of these, Offred jumped over the past and the present. Because she reaffirmed the decline of women 's rights and the events leading to the details of the current life of her present life.

The civil war that changed the United States to Gilead was a jihad and was fighting to restore God's rule on the earth. It is contrary to the will of God that women pursue equal rights to men.
