The Oedipus and Beowulf Oedipus and Beowulf diagrams represent two different types of heroes. Edips is a shameless hero and is characterized by its standards. He is a powerful and tall man with impeccable flaws. He contributed to his downfall but Edpsus was not fully responsible for it. He also learned lessons from his mistakes and eventually produced catharsis in his reading. Meanwhile, Beowulf is characterized by grand hero's standards. Pursue excellence and personal glory by doing heroic acts. He has a worthy ethic, a great warrior, and loyalty to his master. Beowulf is rewarded with its reputation and wealth. These two are heroes, but the personal situation to achieve this position is quite different. Edips is a man with power and social position. This is due to his position as the King of Thebes.
