Oedipus the King

Oedipus Rex Throughout history, writers and philosophers have expressed their views on how to ultimately define human life in their work. The Greeks played a role in this task. Sophocles's Oedipus Rex is a wonderful drama in the ancient Greek world, bringing direction to other people. In this play, Sophocles showed us a chapter of my life. Throughout the book, he implied that life constitutes the mystery of human problem solving and hence the pursuit of answers. He also hinted at us that life seems pre-determined by the desires of the gods and creates the world of destiny.

Oedipus - The hero of King Oedipus and Oedipus of Cologne. Before the action of King Edpses began, Edips was king of Thebes. He is known for his ability to solve wisdom and mystery - he rescued the town of Tabe and became king by solving the mystery of Sphinx. However, Edips had stubbornly turned his attention to his truth. The literal meaning of his name ("swollen foot") is a clue to his identity - he was taken away from the house of Lyus as a baby, and his feet were on the hill. On his way to Thebes, he killed his biological father, he did not know who he was, and began marrying his biological mother Jocasta.

King Oedipus is one of the most ironic dramas ever. Writer Sophocles is an ancient famous philosopher. The drama was about that Edepus of King Thebes killed himself without knowing his father and married his mother. God warned Kingbes of Thebes before Oedipus that his son would kill him. Therefore, when his wife Jocasta had a son, he exposed the baby to the mountain.
