Prophet - a person who evokes inspiration from God This is the definition of a word prophet in the Webster dictionary, but the prophet is more. The prophet is a chosen man of God, communicating his message to people, an intermediary between God and His people. The prophet is God's choice as a materialization of his own incarnation. Someone will ask what people say. Someone participated. Prophets are not living perfect now, but all of them have unmatched connections with the Lord.

At least two of the Bible are called Obadia. In my last message, we met a godly Obadia who was a caretaker of the evil King of Ahab. Today we will talk about a prophet who lived in the era after the destruction of Jerusalem another Obadia, and predicted the destruction of Isaac 's people who are descendants of Esau' s brother Esau. Obadiah is one of the shortest books in the Bible, one of the most ambiguous books. But today I want to study this overlooked book of the Bible and to show that it shows the two aspects of God's personality including God's kindness and justice.

Purpose of writing: Ovadia is the shortest book in the Old Testament, with only 21 verses. Obedadia is a prophet of God and uses this opportunity to condemn Edom's sins against God and Israel. Descendants of Esau of Edom, the Israelites were descendants of his twin brother Jacob. The fight between brothers has affected their descendants over 1000 years ago. When the Israelites left Egypt from Egypt, this split allowed the Edomites to prohibit Israel from crossing their land. The crime of Edom's pride now requires a strong judgment of the Lord

We do not know very little about Obadia, but he is one of the little prophets. In the days of Elijah and Elisha, there was mention of the prophet Obadia, he thought he might be the same person. The name Obadiah is a very common name in Hebrew, but there is a possibility that this is not the same prophet. Because in this book Obadiah mentioned about the day when Jerusalem was destroyed. The alien army was a prisoner of war, occurred in Elijah and Elisha. Therefore, most Bible critics believe that the author of this book is the contemporary with the last prophet Jeremiah before the Israelites were imprisoned.
