Edinburgh Tea Train is a new tea center opened in 2017. Food and landscape At the tea center you can enjoy authentic breakfast, tea and snacks. They also sell tea products (they are much cheaper than other products, but the quality is very good). They offer special tea garden tours and specialty teas of the month. Please ask the staff for details. To tea house is 2 minutes by car from Nanuya station (to Nuwara Eliya), so be sure to have a tea train before and after the train.

Hill club is a special experience bringing you back nearly 100 years. But you have to wear dinner. If you do not have a jacket and tie, you can borrow from their collection! The food is very tasty, the waiter is wearing ethnic costumes and white service gloves.

Nuwara Eliya Golf Club is another place to experience the "colonial era". As a temporary member of the club, you can apply for a cost of 500 rupees per person (February 2017), or payment for a round of golf. The price of hors d'ovre and dessert is surprisingly cheap. The meal fee is LKR 3000 to 4000 (February 2017) including service charge and tax

The Indian restaurant in Grand Hotel is a bit disappointing. Unpleasant staff and plastic appearance barely enhances unpleasant food. It might be worth to try the hotel itself

Take a train to Nuwara Eliya or Era through green tea plantation. Tickets for Nuwara Eliya are about $ 2.5 / 400 LKR. A trip to Nuwara Eliya will take 4 hours and 7 hours to reach Ella. Taking a train is considered one of the most beautiful train routes in the world! We fully agree with this!

Sri Lanka is one of the world's largest exporters of tea. Since tea was introduced in Sri Lanka in the middle of the 19th century, Nuwara Eliya has become the capital of the tea industry. Miles before arriving in either direction from Nuwara Eliya, there is only one acre tea room, actually a tea room. There are many factories open to visitors, and there is a teahouse for you to buy. Originally built for cultivation of Cinchona, Hakkara was the source of the antimalarial drug quinine and soon became a host of various alien species. Roses that bloomed between April and August got into the limelight with Hakkara. Trees are growing in the mountains, including cypress trees from California, delicate old cedar, huge tree ferns, Japanese eucalyptus trees, and crying Australian Melaleuca.

In the 1830's, Edward Burns governor turned Nuwara Elijah into a commercial and coffee production center. In 1847, a great colonial explorer, Samuel Baker, introduced British vegetable gardening at Nuwara Eliya. To date, Nuwara Eliya is a European vegetable producer representing Sri Lanka, distributing all vegetables to other parts of the island. After the coffee in Sri Lanka withered in the 1870s, Sir James Taylor introduced a tea plantation centering the Nurara Eliya district as the center of highland tea cultivation area in central Sri Lanka. The first plantation at the experimental stage was founded in 1867 at Loolecondera Estate between Candy and Nuwara Eliya. In 1885, the Takahara railroad extended from Nuwara Eliya to Nanuya 5 km south.
