Nursing Ethics: Patient Abandonment

In this case study, I examined the case of LPN who chose to go home and return home while falling. LPN was assigned to care for 5 patients in obstetric wards, 4 of them were considered stable. When LPN became ill and vomited, the fifth patient was waiting for obstetric counseling. At this point, she informed the other nurses and informed the nurses that they needed to be discharged due to illness. The accused nurse instructed the boss to notify him before leaving the medical facility, but LPN came home without doing so.

Wherever you are, nurses have faced ethical challenges in patient care. In fact, in Florence nightingale's nursing note she discussed the moral obligation to maintain confidentiality, communication, and centrality to meet patient needs (Nightingale, 1859; Ulrich & Zeitzer, 2009). Likewise, today's nurse must abide by the basic ethical virtues, responsibilities and principles of the nursing profession. However, it is becoming increasingly difficult for nurses around the world to practice in good faith in the complex ethical choices and pressures faced by nurses.

Nursing is a moral occupation. Nurses are accused of doing good for patients and avoiding harm. However, technological progress in medical care requires nurses to extend their instinctive understanding of ethics to rational and conscious knowledge. The course will provide nurses with information on nursing ethics, nursing ethics committee, and nursing advocacy activities. All of these help to maintain the integrity of care. Many ethicologists believe that access to basic personal medical services is a feature of civil society. Many also believe that this lack of access is the most important ethical issue in the country. In addition to this issue, this webinar will explain our ethical and professional obligations and responsibilities to improve access to high quality medical care.

Morality is the foundation of care. Every nurse should respect the patient, maintain patient dignity, and protect patient rights. Nurses need to establish mutually trustworthy and respectful environments between patients and medical professionals. Because patients leave their dignity to nurses, nurses must protect their privacy, listen to their concerns, and consider their willingness to take care. The nurse works alone with other medical experts. This coordination among nurses, colleagues and doctors is very important for the safety and quality of patient care. The nurse performs his / her duties according to the instructions of the doctor and acts according to his own judgment as necessary. Regardless of the following, care ethics will include fair and equitable treatment of all patients.
