Introduction Culture and language skills are a new trend in the healthcare industry. What is the meaning of cultural and linguistic supervisors? The Ministry of Ethnic Minority Health (OMH, 2013) defines cultural and linguistic abilities as a series of "actions, attitudes, and policies that influence effective work in intercultural situations". According to OMH (2013), culture influences health care implementation, acceptance and final results. In this report, the authors discuss Leininger 's cultural diversity and universality theory in the context of nursing practice, social, political and ethical implications, as well as the advantages and limitations of the theory.
This article is an analysis and critique of the theory published by Madeleine Rininger called nursing theory and cultural care theory. The analysis is based on Leininger's publication on her theory which began in the mid 1950's and her main contribution is her second book, "Intercultural Nursing: Concepts, Theory, Research and Practice "It comes from. The models used for the analysis of cultural care theory are Chinn model and Kramer model. This model was developed by Peggy Chinn and Maenoa Kramer in 1983. The model uses a two-step process to evaluate theoretical description and critical reflection theory. The theoretical explanation includes purpose, concept, definition, relationship, structure, and premise. Critical considerations analyze the purpose of the theory using a series of questions. (McEwen & Willis, 2010, p. 95) This model is used to criticize one of the oldest nursing theories.
This nursing theory paper defines the theory of Madeleine M. Raginger on the diversity and universality of intercultural care. She was born in Sutton, Nebraska in 1948. Leninger (1978) introduced the concept of intercultural care and developed cultural nursing theory to explain cultural ability. Her work "Diversity and Universality of Cultural Care: Nursing Theory" was published in 1991. Due to the increase in immigrants and refugees, today's nurses face unprecedented cultural diversity. Culturally competent nurses will provide comprehensive, culturally based, best care. Intercultural theory considers culture to be an important part of human care. The main purpose of Leininger's theory is to understand the influence of culture on health and disease. This intercultural theoretical paper discusses the cultural dynamics that influence the relationship between the nurse and the patient.
In the 1950s, Leininger started focusing on nursing practice, focusing on care and intercultural perception (Cohen). In the late 1980s, research on intercultural care and cultural care theory of Leininger was published in intercultural nursing magazine. Here, Leininger defined nursing as "essence and central field of nursing practice". The purpose of this publication is to share the academic research between the nurse and other people and to be interested in incorporating knowledge of intercultural care into its practice. Her published theory points out that "care is a unified field at the core of nursing knowledge and practical system" (Leininger). On the global scale, she is considered one of the most prolific writers in the nursing industry. Leininger's intercultural care theory is important and unique, as it is the only theory focusing on cooperative medical care and considers all the cultures around the world (Cohen).
