Novice versus Expert Learning

Experts are not just those who have much knowledge about the subject. It is also a person who understands how the theme is structured and understands the language and method of the subject. Thoughts of experts, Bransford et al. (1999) is summarized mainly on what is called "important idea" or the core concept of this field. For economists, these are the so-called "principles" of economics. This shows that there is a significant difference in learning style between beginners and experts. Learn based on what everyone knows. Crowe & Youga (1986, 218) states as follows. "Cognitive development studies show that learning is a process of building a connection that links students' knowledge with the new information presented."

The problem with beginners is that they do not understand mostly about themes, but more importantly, they do not understand how disciplines are organized. Therefore, as a beginner learns, the new information is regarded as a more or less random data point. In contrast, as experts learn, they immediately classify the new information and insert it into the appropriate part of their mental model. For beginners, learning new information is like juggling. For experts, as opposed to placing new information on the appropriate shelves, the possibility of being discarded is low. Writing provides tools for teaching students to learn more about experts. White (1999, 22) pointed out, "Writing helps to strengthen research on theories and concepts that are central in economics courses." Use these concepts to imitate expert learning methods. These assignments will help students build connections and help identify relationships and ultimately allow students to build the psychological framework necessary for a broader understanding of economic concepts. All three tasks attempt to make students think about the definition of economic concepts, but the first task is about evaluation rather than learning tools. The second task requires the student to create a definition that is a higher level of challenge than recognition. The final task is to create the highest level of learning as we require students to apply concepts to meaningful contexts, just as practitioners do.

The difference between experts and beginners' brains is also a problem of more cognitive centers. A well-known study of the brains of taxi drivers in London shows that learning "knowledge" in the streets of London leads to structural changes in the brain. In this survey, we train trainees through training and testing of taxi drivers. The hippocampus of the person who passed the test increased. My wife is a technical agent and I am her technical consultant. We have worked with software developers for many years, but many are also musicians. In our tournament amateur convention, beginners face ourselves. They are also encouraged to enter our usual parentheses and they can compete with higher level experts. Playing with people at your skill level is not only fun, but you can push yourself and fight against opponents who may have more skills than you can learn more. For our new and often low level players, this is usually incentive as they want to break their friends in a friendly competition.
